    Just One question?? I was told to Never put wax and grass remover on body filler?? it will get trapped in it and mess with the prime and paint down the road?? is this a real thing??

    • @3MCollision
      @3MCollision 2 дні тому

      Hi there! Thanks for your question! Please note that this is a real concern in the automotive body repair industry. Wax and grease remover, also known as a surface cleaner or degreaser, is typically used to clean the surface of a vehicle before sanding, applying body filler, or painting. However, it's important to use these products correctly to avoid potential issues with the body filler due to absorption, adverse chemical reactions, and/or poor paint adhesion. Hope this helps.

    Interface pad with the 400 or no?

    • @EastCoastWJ
      @EastCoastWJ День тому

      Yes always use the interface pad on a contoured surface like that. The only time I don’t use an interface is if I’m roughing something in. Other than roughing in you should be hand blocking and then you can use the DA with an interface pad to remove the straight line scratches at the end of the procedure.

    Is the blender you applied to the surrounding area of the repair the same product used for the wet bed?

    • @3MCollision
      @3MCollision 2 дні тому

      Hi there! Thanks for your question! Please note the blender solution used in this video was to help "melt" the sealer that was previously applied to the repair area. This helps ensure that the area is smooth and that you don't see any type of halo on the repair area. When moving on to the wet bed, this specific paint manufacturer said to use a clear basecoat - then move on to color and final clear coat after allowing proper flash time. Jason describes this process from 2:20-3:35 of the video. Always refer to your paint manufacturer's recommendations to ensure you are taking the best course of action for your repair. Hope this helps.

    No Matter how many times I press it out I never get rid of the bubbles. I have the right amount of hardener what else can cause this? I scoop it out with a mixing stick then use a spreader to mix it

    • @3MCollision
      @3MCollision Місяць тому

      There are many reasons why the Pinholes appear. Mixing of filler and hardener in a stirring motion is a common mistake. This introduces air into the filler. Mixing of filler in can is also something that can cause pinholes due to trapped air. Too much hardener in filler can also cause this. To know other reasons that cause pinholes, please watch the video from (05:56). Hope this helps!

    I have done detailing as a side business for like 10 years and i hardly use rotary. in my opinion you can correct paint faster with 15-21, especially with 21, but with the rotary you can destroy paint faster. I know it sounds crazy, but thats how it is. The things you do with 21 1-2 step, you have to do 2-3 steps with the rotary.

    • @3MCollision
      @3MCollision 6 днів тому

      Hi there! We're glad to hear that you've been in the trade for a long time. Please note that rotary cuts faster than random orbital, but you are correct, it also means you can destroy the clear as it can burn through edges very quickly. Random orbital has fewer steps than rotary on dark colors, but it cuts slower. Our customers who want speed and a better finish use both. They will compound with rotary for speed and then polish with random orbital for a finer finish. At the end of the day, it's all personal preference for the person doing the polishing.

    • @jtm1979
      @jtm1979 6 днів тому

      @@3MCollision Not really when you use 21mm machine with 5" short wool pad and if rotary has 5" wool pad too. You get some speed benefit when you use 10" twisted wool because you can do so large areas and no need to clean the pad after every set, but you have to finish so much more that its usually not worth it.

    Hi do you use DA sander over the filler after block sanding with 150/180 or the glaze can be applyed directly on block sanded repair area. I was comented before days other video here is the part where i doubt i my knowlege and i'm not sure do i work properly. I know that the glaze is with finer structure this mean fills finer sanding marks but in that case on top of what sanding marks is applyed on the metal and the exsisting filler on the repaired area 150/180 both( block sanden or da sanded)? I realy will be very happy if i recieve answer from your team. Wish you everything best

    Hi i realy love watching yours videos. I have question: exm. if i start sanding bodyfiler and i have to reapply bodyfiler not glaze (if the repair needs more leveling/ filling) what grade sandpaper have to use 120 on the whole area like i sand to bare metal or have to use 180 just like before glaze. I'am confused because then i have both metal and bodyffiler and the filler will be scrached deeply with 120 than the bare metal. Many thanks

    • @3MCollision
